About Us
Founded in 2021 as a student-initiated grassroots movement, MESEC stemmed out of a workshop for researchers in consciousness science held in Campomoro, Corsica.
Our mission is to advance the scientific study of consciousness by fostering an inclusive and amicable research environment, promoting collaboration over competition. Support from two Templeton World Charity Foundation grants allowed us to grow our community and expand our initiatives, now offering events for students and post-docs in all stages of interaction with consciousness studies: from getting to know the basics to working on the innovative frontiers in the field.
MESEC is ran by researchers in training (students and post-docs) and our flat-hierarchy organizational structure includes executive board, event organization, and task forces. You can join our community by participating at an event and becoming a MESEC alum - MESECeer :)
